What Geocore Means Now
Geocore is now the name of the geography platform you play in your browser: 30+ quick games, 1,300+ map quizzes, daily games, the street-level game Georoam, and lobbies where you play any of it with friends. The original 3D globe game you may have downloaded is now called Geocore Classic, and it isn't going anywhere.
Your account, your level and XP, your friends and your Pro membership work in both. Nothing you have is lost.
Geocore: play in your browser
Open geocore.fun and choose Play. There is nothing to install.
- 30+ quick games. Pin Drop, Geordle, Flag Peek, Paint The Flag, Draw the Border, Size Up and many more, from two-minute sprints to drawing a border back onto the map.
- Solo or with friends. Play any game on your own, or open a lobby, send your friends the code, and play a playlist of games in a row with a podium at the end.
- Daily games. A challenge a day, the same for everyone and numbered, so you can compare scores with friends. Today's dailies are free to play and never count against your daily games. See today's dailies.
- 1,300+ map quizzes. Countries, capitals, flags, outlines, states and cities, by region, with a printable sheet for every one. Read the quiz guide.
- Georoam. You're dropped on a real street, on Mapillary's community imagery. Look around, then pin where you think you are. Free with an account.

Geocore Classic: the original 3D globe edition
Geocore Classic is the game Geocore started as: every Classic game on a real-time 3D globe and 2D maps, satellite and hologram styles, progression to level 99, its leaderboards and the Geocore Learn atlas.
- It's best on Windows. Download it for Windows, or play it in your browser on its own page, geocore.fun/classic.
- It keeps working, and it keeps getting fixes and news. We are not switching it off, and nothing in it is being taken away.
- New games now arrive on Geocore in the browser. There, a new game reaches everyone at once, with nothing to download or reinstall.
- Every old link still works. The game catalog, each game's page, /game and the download page all stay where they were.
:::note If you play on Windows You don't need to do anything. Classic carries on as before, and the main menu's news panel keeps you posted. :::
What carries over
| | Geocore | Geocore Classic | | --- | --- | --- | | Your account and sign-in | Same | Same | | Level and XP | One total | One total | | Friends | Same list | Same list | | Geocore Pro | Included | Included | | Achievements | One set | One set |
One account. Sign in once with the account you already have. There's no second sign-up.
One level. XP from a game on Geocore and XP from a game in Classic add to the same total, so your level and rank title move with everything you play.
One Pro membership. If you have Pro, it already covers both. If you don't, one membership unlocks both.
What stays where it was. Each game keeps its own results. Your personal bests and streaks in Classic stay in Classic, exactly as they were, and the dailies on Geocore keep a streak of their own.
What to expect
- New games on Geocore. Every new game from now on is a Geocore game, playable in your browser, solo or in a lobby.
- More of Classic, coming to the browser. Over time, more of what Classic does will come to Geocore too, so that one platform holds all of it.
- Classic stays supported. News, fixes and corrections to the map data keep coming.
