Three ring games
A ring is drawn on the map around a centre, and it widens after every answer.
- Largest City in the Ring: type the city with the most people inside the ring around a centre city. A city inside that is not the biggest shows where it ranks, so aim higher. Play Largest City in the Ring
- Five Cities a Ring: name any five cities inside each ring before it widens. Each one lights up as you finish its name. Play Five Cities a Ring
- Most Populous in the Ring: the countries around a centre country light up; type the one with the most people. Play Most Populous in the Ring
Each plays one to eight rings and has a daily, the same for everyone, from October 23, 2026. Free with an account; Hard is part of Geocore Pro.
The world's states and provinces
Every state, province and region of the world, on one map:
- Quizzes for the whole world and for each continent, in Pin, Type, Name them all and Learn. Open the world quiz
- Heatmap: World States: find a hidden region by how hot or cold each guess is.
- Pin Drop: World States: drop a pin inside the region you are asked for.
- World States MCQ: a region lit on the map, its outline or its name, in four formats. Play World States MCQ
- State Shape to Name, State Name to Shape, State Map to Name and State Map to Shape now play on any country's map, not only the US.
Part of Geocore Pro. The four state games stay free with an account on the US map.
Make Your Own
Build a multiple-choice question from parts: countries, US states or cities; what each question shows (a name, a capital, a flag, a shape or the place lit on the map); and what you pick. A question one of the ready-made games already asks opens that game instead. Part of Geocore Pro. Make your own
Geo Puzzle: Build outwards
One piece starts on an empty board, with no outlines anywhere. The tray offers only the pieces that border what you have built, so the map grows outwards from where you began. A miss tells you how far off you were, never which way, and after three tries the piece places itself for no points. Playable with no account. Build outwards
Improvements
- Ring Map's rings now grow: a small first ring, each one a step larger, sized by Difficulty. Set Ring sizes to Even for the equal slices it had before; your earlier bests stay with Even.
- Easy, Medium and Hard in the games whose places run from famous to obscure, from City Pin Drop and Flag Quiz to Capitals and Click the Country. Medium is the default; Easy asks only well-known places; Hard asks from every place and is part of Geocore Pro. Your earlier bests are kept.
- Every web daily has a Give up button. It asks first, then counts today's run as played with what you found and shows you the answers. Today's daily played together with friends has none.
- In a lobby, each player has a colour, always shown with their initials, on the standings, the map and the podium.
- The reveal compares everyone's answers: each pin with its distance and a line to the answer, each click, and who picked which option.
- In First to answer, a place fills in the colour of whoever named it, as it happens, and everyone's progress moves live.
- Eight quick reactions float up from each player's row; you can mute anyone's. Not in a daily or a classroom.
- A reveal moves on once everyone has pressed Next, and the leader can skip a round for a player who has stepped away and change the round timer mid-game.
